Iraq war lies

there you have it folks. based on disputed intelligence AT THE TIME, it is clear Bush, Cheney and crew lied:

Dick Cheney: Fail.

Richard Clarke wrote a piece in the Washington Post  that apparently touched a sore spot for Dick Cheney.

Speaking at the National Press Club on 06/01/2009, Dick Cheney with a straight face suggests that Dick Clarke ‘missed it’ in reference to the attacks on 9/11 (at 2:45 in this clip):

“You know, Dick Clarke. Dick Clarke, who was the head of the counterrorism program in the run-up to 9/11. He obviously missed it.”

here’s a sample of emails that Clarke sent the Bush administration regarding al qaeda:

“Bin Ladin Public Profile May Presage Attack” (May 3)

“Terrorist Groups Said Co-operating on US Hostage Plot” (May 23)

“Bin Ladin’s Networks’ Plans Advancing” (May 26)

“Bin Ladin Attacks May Be Imminent” (June 23)

“Bin Ladin and Associates Making Near-Term Threats” (June 25)

“Bin Ladin Planning High-Profile Attacks” (June 30)

“Planning for Bin Ladin Attacks Continues, Despite Delays” (July 2)

On the Income Tax

these stats were stumbled upon today and are brought to you by the National Retail Sales Tax Alliance…

The ugly facts.
When the income tax was instituted in 1913 the tax form was four pages long and you would had to have earned more than $300,000 (in 1994 dollars) to be even required to file a return. In 90 years this is what it has come to…

  • The average tax burden borne by Americans in 2000 was 33.5%
  • In the year 2000, the 1040 form was 70 lines long and had 117 pages of instructions.
  • Individuals and businesses waste nearly $200 billion a year filing their taxes. We bear this burden through higher prices and lower wages.
  • The IRS prints some 280 instruction forms to explain how to complete nearly 480 tax returns.
  • The tax code is so large that each year the IRS mails enough pages of forms and instructions to circle the earth nearly 28 times.
  • The number of IRS employees has more than doubled in the last 30 years.
  • Half of all filers hire someone else to do their taxes.

Thanks to Nixon, the gold standard was ended in 1971 and it didn’t take long for the counterfeiters of the Fed to run the printing presses to the ground…

No link between Saddam Hussein, 9/11

big shocker…

Cheney: No link between Saddam Hussein, 9/11

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday that he does not believe Saddam Hussein was involved in the planning or execution of the September 11, 2001, attacks.

He strongly defended the Bush administration’s decision to invade Iraq, however, arguing that Hussein’s previous support for known terrorists was a serious danger after 9/11.

Cheney, in an appearance at the National Press Club, also said he is intent on speaking out in defense of the Bush administration’s national security record because “a clear understanding of policies that worked [in protecting the United States] is essential.”

“I do not believe and have never seen any evidence to confirm that [Hussein] was involved in 9/11. We had that reporting for a while, [but] eventually it turned out not to be true,” Cheney conceded.

But Hussein was “somebody who provided sanctuary and safe harbor and resources to terrorists. … [It] is, without question, a fact.”…
